Position

Your MISSIONS:
The Head of Research Portfolio will be responsible for developing and implementing a research portfolio on Microbiome.

Your activities :
In this field of R&D, the responsibilities of the head are:
• To act as the spoke person of the BIOASTER Microbiome Research Portfolio
• To establish new private and public partnerships.
• To lead the design of BIOASTER collaborative projects and research service agreements.
• To manage, monitor and propose solutions to ensure the progress of a 10 to 15 projects portfolio.
• To identify and internally communicate scientific and technological bottlenecks encountered by the private sectors.
• To support and/or to lead internal technological research projects focused on microbiome R&D.
• To ensure the direct management of a team composed of a project manager, a Business manager and a project lead.
• To transversely manage several project leads in a matrix organization.
• To lead and support the dissemination of project results though academic publications, licences and project reports

Requirements

YOUR PROFILE:
Personal skills:
• Strong leadership skills and ability to develop and manage an R&D project portfolio
• Excellent communication skills (internal and external)
• Fluency in English and French language
Professional experience:
• >10 years professional R&D experience in the bacteriology/microbiome space in leadership/senior research roles
• In depth understanding of technical bottlenecks which need to need to be solved to boost microbiome based discoveries and developments from research stage to pre-clinical and (early) clinical development
• Documented past experience in the fields of culturomics and/or the analysis of host/microbiome molecular interactions using in vitro/in vivo models.
• Extensive scientific and industry background in the Therapeutic Area of Infectious Diseases and/or other pathologies linked to microbiome (IBD, NASH, diabetes, ).
• Experience with mid-size Biotech and/or Big Pharma
• Extensive experience of scientific writing : research proposal, grant writing, scientific publications
• Excellent scientific and project track record
• Proven ability to build external collaboration networks in R&D with academia and industry
• Established network and highly recognized expert in the field of microbiome R&D
