Air transmission of SARS-Cov-2 exists between ferrets

Flash

This is a conclusion presented in a study performed by the Erasmus Medical Centre (EMC) Rotterdam supported by the VetBioNet program and NIH/NIAID. Information about transmission routes for this new coronavirus are still lacking to better define control and prevention measures. This study showed that effective transmission exists via direct contact and via the air (respiratory droplets and/or aerosols) between ferrets. These results strongly support the current social distancing measures applied around the world.
