Three programs related to FéRI's research themes are offered by the University of Tours:

1. National Master's courses (in french)

As part of the reflection carried out for the 2018-2023 contractualisation, the University's teaching team in partnership with INRAE proposed the "Life Sciences" grade consisting of 6 master's courses.

Two of these courses, "Cellular and Molecular Infectious Diseases" and "Immunity and Biomedicines", will enable students to obtain a Master 2 degree specialising in biotechnologies, infectious diseases and biomedicines (particularly vaccines). The "Cellular and Molecular Infectiology" course was already part of the training offer of the previous contract.

The first common year (master 1) offers a broad vision of microbiology and basic knowledge in physiopathology, immunology, biochemistry, human and animal pathology. Transdisciplinary teaching allows students to tackle methodological problems from molecular biology to animal experimentation. The legal and regulatory environments of the biotechnology industries are also covered.

The specialisation in “Cellular and Molecular Infectiology” and “Immunity and Biomedicines” is carried out during the second year (master 2).

Students of medicine, pharmacy, veterinary school or engineers can be admitted directly to the second year of the master's degree (under the conditions specified by the University of Tours).

2. The Erasmus Mundus International Master in Infectious Diseases and One Health (IDOH)

Three European universities, the University of Tours, the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Hannover Medical School (MHH) have joined forces to create the full English-speaking first cycle (Masters 1 and 2 - 2 years), training worldwide young scientists on pathogens research in the One Health concept. The universities rely on a large network of 35 academic and private partners, including the FéRI laboratories, to select, train and host the best young people for their research internship.

From the first class selected in September 2017, 24 students from all over the world were selected each year.
The influence of the One Health concept in the fight against infectious diseases will thus be ensured at one of the most crucial levels, namely the training of future research and development executives from the academic and private world.

3. The Doctoral School "Health-Biological Sciences-Chemistry of the Living" (ED 549)

co-accredited by the Universities of Orleans and Tours (Directors: Thierry MOREAU & Agnès DELMAS).

In connection with the host units, including the FéRI laboratories, ED 549 provides support for the doctoral course until the thesis defense and prepares the professional integration of doctoral students in the various research professions. . ED 549 brings together around 320 HDR researchers or teacher-researchers and 280 doctoral students. It brings together units that are specific to or associated with major research organizations.
