CIRM-BP

The CIRM-BP, created in 2006, is located in the INRAE Val de Loire center within the joint Infectious Disease and Public Health research unit (ISP) which associates INRA and the François Rabelais University of Tours. A collection of pathogenic bacteria for medical or veterinary applications, and research. The activity of the CIRM-BP is dedicated to the conservation and distribution of pathogenic bacterial strains of animal and human origins as well as to the distribution of their genomic DNA. These strains mainly come from the INRAE collections. The CIRM-BP has facilities to manage the collections of pathogenic bacteria of risk class 2 and 3 in compliance with the safety rules in force. In order to better supervise its activity, the CIRM-BP has implemented a quality approach which has enabled it to be ISO 9001 certified since 2008.

Deposit and orders of strains. The CIRM-BP provides services in the fields of identification (classical bacteriology, molecular biology and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry in connection with the PIXANIM platform, UMR PRC, Nouzilly), characterization (typing, profile of 'antibiotic resistance, ...) and the conservation of strains for dissemination to the scientific community or for confidential security for the exclusive use of the depositor.

Equipment : Several bacterial collections, representing more than 2,500 strains in total.

L2 and L3 laboratories. Bioscreen incubator analyzer, spiral inoculator, antibiogram box reader, multipoint inoculator, magnifying glass with the possibility of oblique transillumination for observation of the plates.

C-Lim /UMR1092, RESINFIT

The C-Lim platform is a platform supported by the Resinfit team (UMR1092, Limoges), dedicated to the study of the antiviral capacities of molecules or physicochemical processes. The evaluations of antiviral molecules are carried out in cell culture or ex vivo on models of placental explants in histoculture using fluorescent virus or finally in vivo on SCID mice humanized by an explant of human placental tissue. Models of ophthalmologic infections from cornea / iris histocultures are also possible.

Equipment : Biological collection of clinical strains of viruses.
