INSERM CHAIR OPEN POSITION - host-virus relationships (France)

INSERM research laboratory UMR996 (under the supervision of Inserm/Paris-Saclay University)

The research laboratory UMR996 laboratory (under the supervision of Inserm/Paris-Saclay University) has a job opening for a INSERM Junior Chair. The recruited researcher is expected to develop an original project on host-virus relationships in relation with immunosurveillance in the commensal-pathogene transition, built on his/her expertise in immunology and, ideally, on the skin environment. Alternatively, candidates with expertise in microbiology, will also been considered given that the team/unit scientists will provide complementary expertise in microbiology or immunology depending the expertise of the candidate. Our laboratory (http://umr996.inserm.fr/) has joined the new Henri Moissan Institute located in University Paris-Saclay at Orsay (south of Paris), which is in the immediate vicinity of many other French research institutes and centers of repute and outstanding technological platforms.

The Inserm Junior Chair position is a new recruitment pathway of researchers, combining research activities and some teaching duties (28h of lectures/year) during a 5-year period. At the end, and after an evaluation of the scientific value and professional aptitudes of the candidate by a tenure commission, a direct access to a permanent position as a Research Director at INSERM could be granted. Such position open at Inserm is dedicated to researchers who have a strong potential to manage and lead a research team, as well as to participate in national, European or international projects. This position is also open to tenured researchers and teachers/researchers able to request a layoff. A package including a 200k€ budget and an annual Charged-Salary of 59k€ minimum is provided.
